Some people can not imagine that young people have the power to effect something in the world, through raising their voice and informing everybody about their opinion and what should have done better.
I think that the statement is true, maybe some adults think that teenagers aren't as well informed about the issues in the world or don't understand them. Look at Greta Thunberg she had the power to inspire alot of teenagers all over the world and to make clear that when they up there don't realize how important it is to save the climat then we have to show them. "Fridays for Future" was born.
The current teenage generation is very into the activism and alot of it happens on social media, where you can see how wide spread the wish of making the world a better place is.
I also think it is a cliche that young people don't really care about the problems in the world and when the adults don't listen to what we have to say this stereotyp will never change. Some of them don't take us seriously. They are young and have not as much experience then we do, so we'll know better what to do. When this attitude doesn't change, of cours they'll underestimate young people and take them the chance to make their collective wish come true.
The people that think young people have no voice in the world, till they are older, should jump over their shadow and be thankfull for every help and reminder they can get, no matter how old ther person is who can give the help.

ARE YOUNG PEOPLE THE ENERGY IT TAKES TO BUILD A BETTER FUTURE?
This is a question which comes up in the lines 26-28 of the blogpost "Just because we’re teens doesn’t mean our voices don’t matter" by Georgia Luckhurst, published in 2013. In her blogpost the author criticises that young people are often underestimated by adults, but that without them there could be no change and no activism towards a better future, because the teenagers provide the energy behind such. In my eyes this statement is partly true and partly not. Not only young people have the energy to make big changes. I believe, that, when someone really desires to change something he feels uncomfortable about, he will for sure have enough energy to do so, if he only really wants it. But it is very, very true that teenagers are the most important for a change towards a better future. Because what for adults and elderly people may seem like a far-away-future is the grown-up-life for us teenagers. If we wouldn’t exist there would be no need in changing the future because all the people making the changes wouldn’t live long enough to still experience this future world. And for that it is majorly important for us to be a part of every change towards a better future because it is about our future and our lives. No adult would like us to make decisions towards their future for them, so why should we?
-JKL

The quote: "Sometimes young people are underestimated, but without us, there can be no change: we are the narrower behind the desire for a better future." Is an excerpt from the text "Just because we're teens don't mean our voices don't matter“. It is about the author wanting to say how important it is that young people get involved in important issues like environment and politics and demonstrate for their interests.I think the author is absolutely right. The youth should not just stand by while an old generation tries to impose rules to coming ones. A good example of this is brexite. This is England's withdrawal from the EU. In the elections it turned out that the elderly were in favor of the exit and the younger were against. In the end, older people pushed their way through Brexit, leaving a younger generation in a world shaped by disadvantages for them. Perhaps Brexite could have been avoided through greater participation of the youth? In conclusion, I think that the author's message is very well chosen because we, the youth, have to live longest with the decisions of the current ruling generation and should therefore try to shape them according to our wishes and protest for them as much as possible.

In my opinion her statement regarding current activism issues and significant changes suit the on going situation perfectly. In the future we will be responsible for keeping the society stable and healthy. Why shouldn't we be now already taken seriously, if our intentions aim for equality? But especially when the politicians and elder generations don't listen to us, we have to stand on our own and fight for what's best for all of us. I wonder how far we will get, knowing how outdated many of the general opinions towards certain groups still remain. None the less, people like Georgia Luckhurst, speaking their mind and taking action, will at least inspire others to do so as well.

Georgia Luckhurst wrote in her block post how nowadays; adults don’t listen to younger people’s opinion and keep on making decisions that effect our future without us. They reason their actions by telling us that we are too young to make our own decisions and even that we are not old enough to be talking about certain topics.
I agree with her because I been in situations like her: where people tell you that you are not old enough to think about a certain topic like feminism or your sexual orientation and when you try to convince them that you are old enough to be talking about this matter, they pretend like you are a kid instead of a teenager. Because of that mindset, that young people’s opinion is not relevant, many teenagers don’t talk about their point of view with others at all. That is not the right way. That’s why I really like her Blog Post because she tries to encourage other people to break that way of thinking. If our generation would speak up about our point of view more often, more people would respect us. We already did some great changes like: Fridays for future, Black lives matter or the pinot of view regarding sexual orientation, but we could change so much more !
I really like her block post and I fully support her opinion. We still have a long road to go and it will take some time until adults treat us equally in an argument or conversation. We already made some great progress, but we can’t stop now.

The statement "Sometimes young people are understimated, but...the energy behind the desire for a better future" is from the blog post "Just because we're teens doesn't mean our voices don't matter". I agree with the author because teenagers are the future, and what energy they have is going to matter in the future even more than it does now. Today teenagers often have a clear opinion on things and a lot of energy to change the world to a better place. Older people often underestimate them and don't take them serious because of their age. But I think they grew up in the new age so they can see the new problems better and from a diffrent angle than people who live here since a long time. A lot of young people know what they want and try their best for things to change. They don't always succeed by their first try, but only to try and to get some people to listen to you can make the change. Not everyone has to be an activist, only listening to people and supporting them can change things.

“Sometimes young people are underestimated, but without us, there can be no change: we are the energy behind the desire for a better future.”

I want to comment about the statement of the blogpost “Just because we’re teens doesn’t mean our voices don’t matter” by Georgia Luckhurst, published in 2013. It is about the involvement of teenagers to activism and how important it is.

I think young people are underestimated in activism these days. You can often hear adults say: “ THEY are far too young for it”, “THEY still have no clue” or “THEY don’t do it professionally anyway”. But why should activism only be a mature, adult world, which doesn’t hold a place for young people? That’s why I think everyone should expresses their opinion without remaining unheard because of the age. Therefore, it is also important that teenagers are not labeled as less significant, because young people can think in the same way as other people. In addition to that, teenagers live in the same world and can recognize problems of the world just as other people. In conclusion, young people are human too and should have the ability to have the same strong voice as others. That’s why I want that teenagers are able to use their voice to show problems of the world while creating a better future without being unheard.

Have a nice Christmas holiday ! 🎄

“Sometimes young people are underestimated, but without us, there can be no change: we are the energy behind the desire for a better future. “

This predication comes up in the ll. 26-28 of the blogpost “Just because we´re teens doesn´t mean our voices don´t matter” written by Georgia Luckhurst in June 2013.

In my discretion, this statement is right, because according to my experience, I frequently had to deal with adults dismissing the opinion of teenagers and not listening to them, because they were “just a kid”.

Well, I morality have to say that my parents are not like that, they let me express my conviction and try to comprehend me. So otherwise, this statement is partly false, because there are numerous estimable adults out there, who take the conception of their descendants seriously.

But, there are also plentiful grown people out there, who are not listening to their descendants. I can only talk about my experiences, which I´ve heard from others, because as I already said, the adults in my environment are not like that. But from what I´ve heard, I think it is beastly how adults underestimate us, even if we´ve really been grappling with various topics. For example, the other day a friend of me was debating with her parents about climatic change and the demonstration called “Fridays for Future”, but her father would not listen and rejected all the arguments she made. I mean he could at least have given his arguments if he disagreed, but simply ignoring someone just because they´re not of the same age as you is just not acceptable.

To summarize all of this, I think the writer of this blogpost should´ve included that not all parents are the way she defines it, because the ones who are might be offended by that. All things considered, the message of this is completely right and I have to agree with this, because there will just never be a balance between the expressions of opinions of teens and adults. It is truly sad, but how could we change that? Maybe in a few years, when we are the ones who are old, we will listen to our kids and remember the unfairness we´ve felt when older people didn´t listen to us.

P.S.: I´m sorry for the bloody language at the beginning, but I just found it so funny hehe

„Sometimes young people are underestimated, but without us, there can be no change: we are the energy behind the desire for a better future.“

I think this message is true, because teenagers are the future. They are the next generation, so they want a good future and they make the decisions for the coming time. Currently, adults have more experiences and influence, so teenagers get underestimated and they are not taken seriously. But teenagers also gain experiences and have a voice, which should matter to change the world for a better future. It is important that young people have their own opinion and want to share it with others. It is significant that they get involved, so they could change something.

So in my opinion without teenagers, there can be no change, because they are really the energy behind the desire for a better future. And only because they are teens it does not mean their voice don´t matter.

Comment of the statement “Sometimes young people are underestimated, but without us, there can be no change: we are the energy behind the desire for a better future.”

I think the statement is true because young people or activists are the future. In which field is not important. Yes, adults have more influence, experience, and knowledge but they should not underestimate young people. If teenagers would not stand up for something what will happen with the future? The adults create a world, and the kids live in this world with this for what the adults got involved. But if they get involved for something there will be a change. So young people should do it and they should not let adults get them down. It is true that young people are underestimated but they should not be. Adults want to change the present for a better future, for who? For their children. So, they are the energy behind the desire for a better future. And if they all work together for their aims, they can change whatever they want.
