I am a young woman (fairly recent college grad) who also identifies as POC. I’m looking for other girls or guys around the same age who are local and interested in things like hiking. One of these less COVID-conscious housemates will be moving out in the Spring of 2024, so we will be looking for more COVID-aware folks to live with us when he moves out. At the beginning of August, the other two housemates who are not COVID-conscious will be moving out as well. At that point, we will need two other COVID-conscious folks to fill their spots.

My level of risk tolerance is that I run two HEPA filters in our house 24/7, wear N95s outside in spaces that are crowded, and 3M auras when I have to work in person (which is rare) or go shopping at all.

My partner's level of risk tolerance is that they wear N95 every day, all day at work and in public, though less so outside, like walks at parks. They also have a big family, and sometimes, take risks unmasked at family events. Occasionally, I will take that risk as well going to those gatherings. (Though not in this surge)

As a household, we mask around others if we feel like we are getting sick and will get tested repeatedly. We ALWAYS mask going to grocery stores or indoors in public and are looking for roommates with similar risk tolerances. This is our bare minimum.

Other aspects of our living environment are

I put off asking because I felt like I didn't deserve this. My abuser withheld our rent and utilities to try to force me leave, and now I'm trying desperately to come up with the funds to pay more than $11,000 in rent and utility arrears.

I'm in a homelessness prevention program, but it's conditional on having public assistance/other donations. I was just denied public assistance and still haven't gotten disability or unemployment. I have Long Covid, haven't had healthcare in a few years, and am beginning to face more mobility challenges. This apartment is physically accessible to me, and I don't qualify for an accessible unit, so staying here is the best option for me.

Grace is Linda's greatest joy, and her emotional support companion. Grace had recently been diagnosed with bladder stones and required emergency surgery to have them removed. Her recovery is several weeks and it is not something Linda can manage on her own. And after surgery Grace will be on a special (expensive) diet for the rest of her life.

The Blackfalds Veterinary Hospital and their team have stepped up to help Linda and have graciously offered to provide post-op care to Grace until she is able to return home.

The surgery and post-op care is expensive and not something Linda can afford by herself. Raising funds to help cover the cost of the surgery, the follow up care, and any additional treatment Grace will require.

I feel so alone & am mostly bedbound due to severely untreated pain. Please help me. Words currently escape me…I don’t know how to make this cheery or eye catching… I just really need help. 🥺

My bare minimum is that you wear a KN95 or better in public indoor spaces. Beyond that, I am willing to adjust my protocol to your comfort as much as I reasonably can. In any indoor space or crowded outdoor space, I wear an n95 or p100, both of which pass a qualitative fit test.

I am a PhD student in a small research group of 6 people. I may have to TA class sizes of 10-20 in the spring semester.

I do indoor climbing and social dancing in small groups of ~10, 2-3 of them masked besides myself, somewhat weekly, and a monthly dance where everyone is masked. I'm willing to decrease the frequency with which I do these recreational activities, and find times at which there are less people, but can't quit them entirely.

I grocery shop in person, but the savings of a roommate could allow me to get delivery.

I like to generally maintain a quiet space for a couple hours to relax in, and I like dishes to not be left out over 2 days. Otherwise, I don't have much non-Covid restrictions on who I'll live with. I like RPGs, board games, knitting, and sci-fi. Let me know if you're interested!

It hurts and sucks to say that I'm starting off 2024 like this. 2023 was probably the worst year of my life. I lost my job in January. I lost my medical coverage in April. I lost any sort of reliable income stream in July. I lost my ninth friend in two years in October. Then, right before Christmas, my cat, who I fought to take care of for the last three years, passed away on my kitchen floor eight feet away from me. During the year, I applied for hundreds of jobs, and I didn't even get one interview. My health has also sucked for the entire year. Needless to say the stress has just turned into numbness. I'm happy to say that I'm teaching again, but I won't see a paycheck from that until the last day of February, and when I do get it, that first one will be less than what someone makes working part time at McDonald's. No offense to anyone working at McDonald's, but we can't reasonably survive on that. I cannot have a repeat of last year. I simply cannot endure it, and I will not live this way for a third year. I'm doing everything I can think of to get back on my feet, but the pandemic killed me, and it continues to kick my dead body around. We are pretty sure that my breathing problems are the result of long Covid. While I continue to fight my way back onto my feet, we need help. This is the last thing I want to ask for because I'm not stupid. I know sooner or later, everyone is going to start to say, "How come this guy can't get his act together?" I had a career for fifteen years, and that is just over. I'm trying.

If you don't mind helping us out again, you are literally saving our lives. I am doing everything I can to get back on my feet, and as I said, I WON'T live this way for a third year.

I grew up on the unceded ancestral lands of the Sierra Miwok & Waali people (northern California) and knowing my ancestral/familial history is a work in progress for me; I do carry white privilege. I don’t drink alcohol or smoke/vape at all, my background is clean, and there are not any animals or children with me (although I love animals/children and enjoy taking care of them). I’ve rented a private room in a Minneapolis house (four people here total) since September 2022, where I pick up after myself and help clean up in shared common spaces (having a chore list helps me a lot for consistency). I pay rent early before the 1st of each month (which I’ve done for the past 3-4 residences now).

The Twin Cities aren’t for me, I need to go north and live closer to nature. I miss having an intimate connection with the lands and giving back to the lands. I helped some at my grandma’s farm up in Winnipeg, Canada several years ago at age 17-18 (the traditional lands of the Anishinabe, Ininew, Oji-Cree, Dene, and Dakota peoples). I’m looking for long-term housing up to two and half hours out from here—somewhere that’s still a reasonable driving distance from a city for necessities and healthcare services (maybe halfway between the Twin Cities and Duluth, or closer to Duluth?).

I used to be part of an amazing 10-person creative/artist BIPOC-majority communal housing co-op of queer/sapphic/lesbian women, femmes, and nonbinary/transmasc folks in the San Francisco Bay Area where we took care of each other, and I’d love to have that kind of experience again. I’m hoping to see the rent and/or my labor be redistributed to Indigenous owned/run communal housing, as an ongoing investment in the well-being of Indigenous/Black folks and the Land Back movement.

This is a long shot, but I would love (and need!) to be part of a house where everyone is consistent with multi-pronged approaches in preventing/minimizing virus transmission, while living their lives. That is, in my opinion, essential for physical and emotional safety. I wear reusable N95-quality silicone masks with airtight seals indoors and outdoors, use eye protection, wash my hands, carry hand sanitizer, have groceries/items delivered or curbside-picked up, and go out only for essential errands and low-risk outdoors time. I have a HEPA air purifier and a fan in my room, and I keep my window cracked open whenever possible. I bring Aranet 4 and a portable air purifier for in-person appointments, and I time my appointments to avoid crowds as much as possible. I stayed home by myself for three of the last four end-of-year holidays, not going to visit family or friends in person due to risk assessment.

At this time, I pay $600 (all utilities included) for a private room and a shared bathroom on different floors. If the prospective house has the room on the same floor with and is positioned near the bathroom (for disability reasons), I’m willing and able to pay up to $700 (all utilities included). I’m a homebody, self-employed part-time and on a fixed income, and I work remotely from home. High speed wi-fi is a must for what I do—justice-informed marketing, producing educational content, and video calls for clients.

Learning ASL is NOT required! I communicate just fine with non-signing folks by writing on paper, using a reusable board with markers, or doing direct text/FB messages on the smartphone (I can’t lip-read at all, please don’t ask me to do that).

Some more about me? I’m neurodivergent, a night owl, sex and kink/BDSM positive, poly friendly, accepting of sex workers. I nerd out on Dayna Lynn Nuckolls’ #DivinationforLiberation framework of sidereal astrology, I’m mostly fire and earth and need to be around folks who have plenty of air and water in their birth charts to balance me out. I like to be outside in nature, and I enjoy deep conversations and writing. A bit about my covid pre-cautiouns: i wear n95s in every indoor space all the time (inlcuding common spaces in my own home at the moment), i don’t unmask around people outside my household (but i also don’t have in-person covid conscious friends at the moment either - im hoping that’ll change soon!), i mask outdoors probably around 90% of the time, i do not indoor dine/restaurant dine at all and avoid crowded indoor spaces (no concerts, etc.) I am open to attend mask mandatory indoor events, just have not been to many. I will also be commuting to class 3 times a week in fall, and do occasionally shop for groceries in person (all masked of course).

I’m looking to room with people who take consistent multilayered approaches to covid mitigation including at minimum masking in all indoor spaces in an n95 or equivalent mask, no indoor dining, regular testing, nasal sprays, etc. I’m also hoping to be able to develop a sense of community with roommates through perhaps sharing creative interests, getting involved in community organizing work together, and things of that nature. As I’m autistic, I really benefit from strong communication relating to boundaries, needs, and wants and I’d want to live with people who are open to building conflict structures and meet somewhat regularly for check ins. I’d also prefer to live with other queer and trans individuals but this is not a deal breaker. I’m hoping to invest in a plus-life nucleic acid testing device soon that we could use as a household when negotiating rules around having guests over and things like that. I’m with an urgent plea for Cedar, our beloved senior foster cat. Cedar was found apart of a feral colony in Springfield, Oregon and was trapped to receive medical care. He immediately showed he was a friendly kitty ready to retire from the streets and find a forever home.

However, Cedar is now facing significant health challenges that require immediate medical attention. He is in need of a comprehensive dental cleaning, which includes multiple extractions. Dental issues are not uncommon in cats who lived on the streets and can lead to severe pain, infection, and further health complications if left untreated. Also, covering this cost will prevent cat rescues or his future forever owners from having to be burdened with this high expensive.

My friends keep choosing to end their lives in their 30’s, my nana died, I’m estranged from my right wing Christian nationalist family, unemployed due to disability but so far no ssdi, and have been in ongoing crisis for seven months. I have been doing all I can to remain stable and grounded but it’s becoming increasingly difficult.

I have BPD and autism plus multiple chronic illnesses, and a history of self harm and institutionalization. I am seeking funds for a specific therapist I have worked with in the past (my very first one, she kept me alive and safe for three years) who no longer accepts my insurance.

I have gone back to her once before when I was really struggling and she helped me stabilize again. My hope is to be able to see her at least five times, but anything would help.

Covid deepened the isolation for so many of us who cannot pretend everything is ok. I am used to having one or two close friends who help make the world make sense. Somewhere between coming out as immunocompromised/ disabled, trans, and anti-racist, I lost my friends.

I’m an artist, herbalist, crafter and maker of experiences. I’m 50, queer, trans, and disabled.

I’m ready to relocate - possibly leaving the west coast (currently in sf bay area) and I might choose where to go based upon the people there. I want to make the kind of solid friendships that existed before social media and I want to hang out and support each other and do our best to make things better for oppressed people in the global majority. First off, I'm very grateful for the community! I've been actively job hunting remotely for the past 4 months and since this is an employer's market, I have yet to even land 1 interview. Unfortunately, that means I'm 3 months behind paying my credit card bill and have nothing for groceries. I was denied SNAP benefits because I still live at home, but my mother is unable to help as she is struggling. As of now, I need about $350 before August 13th. For the private detached cabin (between 550-600 square feet, located over 20 feet from the other cabin, about 40 ft from us, and over 100 feet further from other houses), it’s 1475/mo for one person, 1500 for two (at this rate we're not breaking even, but we wanted to make it as affordable as possible despite all the costs to make it MCS-friendly). Some work-exchange may be available.

The community currently has 3 covid-cautious fragrance-free queer folks living here, and the additional private cabin has room for up to 1 to 2 more folx. Also, separately from this, I just learned recently there’s a place for sale a tenth of a mile from this community – we’re not in a position to buy it ourselves but happy to share info.

This is a great place to enjoy outdoors (swimming, hiking, backcountry skiing) far away from others (been swimming every day except one this whole summer so far). The lake in this picture is one of over 40 lakes nearby.

I'm reaching out to clean air advocates and caring individuals who believe in making a difference. I'm seeking your support to help protect a vulnerable community that lacks the privilege of choice in ensuring their safety.

As someone at high risk, I'm currently living in a homeless shelter due to chronic illness. Shelters rarely accommodate non-autonomous individuals, but I’ve been granted an exception. Unfortunately, I have no safety net—my partner recently passed away, and I have no family to rely on. If my health deteriorates further, I’m in a dire situation.

I’m working to raise awareness about the critical need for COVID-19 safety measures, particularly clean air, as we head into colder months when windows will be shut. Illness is a constant concern here, with new people arriving daily, ever-changing staff, and a mix of emergency and temporary residents across three floors.

To create a safer and healthier environment, I’ve initiated conversations with the shelter's management about the importance of improving air quality. However, the cost of this essential upgrade may be beyond their budget, which is why I’m starting this fundraiser. My initial goal is to secure one air purifier that can effectively cover one floor, with hopes that the shelter can eventually provide more.

I’m not sure if the specific air purifier I’m considering will be the one ultimately chosen. The goal is just the beginning, and the funds raised will go towards whichever COVID safety system or purifier is accepted and best for the shelter

I'm Seneca, I have a connective tissue disorder, congenital heart disease and gene defect. Im First nations, and high risk. I’m currently staying in a high risk enviroment at a public shelter, which leaves me particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 due to the lack of safety measures in place here.

There's a new outbreak starting, I’m deeply concerned about the risk of ending up in the hospital again and facing further long-term effects.

When my income has been good, I have bought respirators and tests for people.

Usually my income is pretty good. But this month has been difficult. Plus my ex-partner stole about $3000 from me. (I have security hardened, but I won't get that money back.)

All the companies I work for are going to pay me well after my rent is due on October 15th.

I’m trying out vanlife as a way to avoid Covid, Mold, Pollution, and Toxic Bigots. I’m Disabled, Queer and Trans and want to camp together with folks who understand how to keep each other safe in these horrific times. Think of how animals group together for safety - I want to offer and receive that!

I want a safe spot around the campfire (or the outdoor movie for low fire risk) where I can be out as myself instead of making small talk with drumpers. I want to share fresh veg and restorative transformative justice with other marginalized folks and participate in mutual aid as we travel. I’ve been traveling in rural/ small towns California which feels relatively safe but I am open to making my way to other places for good community.
