Overfishing is wasting fish in the ocean. “Now we’re facing a global collapse of our oceans thanks to overfishing,” (“You can help stop overfishing”). If you don’t stop overfishing we are going to run out of fish. “Bottom trawls drag across the sea floor catching everything in their path. 4 million fish die from being bycatch of these trawls,” (Sustainable Solutions). This means millions of fish are dying from trwaling. “90% of the big fish are gone which is bad for the ecosystem,” (You can help…). This is why you need to help stop overfishing. As a result we will run out of fish.

You can make legislation to stop overfishing. “More no catch zones must be established to help fish repopulate,” (You can help…). If you make legislation we could save the fish population. “There are some regions where trawling is limited or prohibited but trawling needs to be outright banned,” If you ban trawling then the fish can be saved from bycatch. 

Senator Stabenow, I  know you love the ocean and fish. So keep the fish alive by making legislation to ban overfishing and conserve the fish. So future kids can enjoy the sea life.
