This is such a good book for girls who are hurting and looking for healing.  Or just middle school aged girls dealing with the hard middle school years with friends.

I would use this book to teach about looking through the masks people where to cover their real feelings and about understanding that families can live in all kinds of places.

I would use this book to teach that you have to look at the pictures (not just the words) in this story to complete the whole story.

I would use this book to teach about winter clothing (I bought a  storytelling kit to go with the book) and rhyming.
