In following year 1920 President Warren Harding was elected the new President of the United States. When President Harding comes into office he makes a point to shift foreign policies drastically. For example the United States decided to decline upon joining the League of Nations. Rather, President Harding focused on building a strong domestic economy. Supporting business growth, industrial expansion, importing products, and limiting immigration. These implications were put into place to avoid primarily becoming a communist country as Germany during that time.
