Afghanistan doesn't have very many food. The most popular food is called Naan. Naan is a type of whole wheat bread that they love to eat. Another type of food they like is called Kebab. Kebab is just meat and vegetables on a stick, which they really enjoy. We have kebab in America, but we usually just put fruit on the stick. They also seem to really like meatballs. You probably know what meatballs are, meat formed into a ball shaped form. The last thing is called Manti. Manti is a big mixture of beef dumplings and many other mixtures. Afghanistan invented this dish.

Afghanistan has some pretty unique traditions. The first one is when girls go in public, they have to put a chaderi on their head. The picture of the chaderi is on the left. They wear chaderi because there are a lot of sandstorms in Afghanistan and they wear them to shelter their faces. When you are under twelve years old, you don't have to wear them. It is a law to wear them if you are above twelve years old. Another tradition is that Afghan brides have to wear green in the Nikah Ceremony before marriage. They have many religious ceremonies in Afghanistan. 99.7% of Afghanistan's population is Islamic. The remaining are Shias in the population.
