Bolton-The type of organisational culture that Lizard Beach had before the change was one where employees felt pressure from top management to follow strict rules and procedures to maximise efficiency. Although the resort is very efficient, this culture has resulted in high employee turnover and stressful work environments where staff do not feel comfortable sharing thoughts or interacting with guests. As a result, guests gave feedback that the resort staff's work was very fast, but they seemed unfriendly and disinterested in engaging.

Bolton-Organizational culture can be thought of as consisting of three interrelated levels.
observable artefacts, espoused values and basic assumptions.
At the deepest level, below our awareness, lie basic assumptions. These assumptions are taken for granted and reflect beliefs about human nature and reality. At the second level, values exist. Values are shared principles, standards, and goals. Finally, at the surface, we have artifacts, or visible, tangible aspects of organizational culture.

Understanding an organization`s culture can begin with observing its works: the physical environment, employee interactions, company policies, reward systems, and other potentially important characteristics. When interviewing for a position, observing the physical environment, how people dress, where they relax, and how they talk to others is definitely a good start to understanding the company`s culture.

And I feel that what lizard Beach did understanding the organisation culture needs, the reality of what happening, she shared her values, standards and goal of what her stretchy is for the organisation.
