there was a time when I had to be honest and that was about my depression. For years I denied that I was struggling because I was the 'mom' friend, the listener, the person that was always alright. I had to be fine because everyone was having it worse. So for years I pushed down my feelings till it got to much and I finally had to be honest with myself and admit, I have depression.

the first time i was impacted by my moms relapse was when i was in 5th grade. we lived in Wacoina at the time. It was the middle of the night when my grandmother woke me and my younger brother. we didn't know what was happening and before we knew it, we were shuffled into my younger brothers fathers car. there were cops, they asked us questions. we were confused, because were was mom? she had relasped and left us alone in our apartment with the door unlocked. after that we had to live with different people. I lived with my grandmother, while my younger brother stayed with his father. that lasted until my mom got out of treatment. which was the end of 6th grade.
