Obviously, this pandemic situation also helped me in the choice. As I said before, I approached this profession above all to my aunt, but my parents were also very supportive in this choice.

Write at least 150 words

What makes a good nurse? Good question, a good nurse is made of so many features that is impossible to describe it all. And, I think, everyone has a subjective opinion on what is a “good nurse” and how it should be, so I’m going to tell you what for me personally is a good nurse. You are a good nurse when you pay attention to every little detail of the patient, what surrounds him, what could be a potential danger to his health and physical integrity. A good nurse is the one that when you have a problem, you feel a little down is there to give you a hand and try to console you as best as possible. But the most important, what makes a good nurse, is to separate work from personal life, not to be break down by the situations of illness that occur in front of him/her. I think I will be a good nurse because I have very clear ideas and I don't let myself down if there is a problem.

Too much hospitals don’t approve this method because they said that animals (in this case dogs) are disease transmission vehicle but there is no report that says of a patient being infected by animals. Obviously, the pets that enter in the hospital, in contact with patients, must have a clear policy and a list of rules or guidelines before they are allowed to visit. There are so many companies and cooperatives that make this type of service and many more hospitals should consider this activity. This type of therapy is used to helping many patients to improve in emotional, social and behavioral areas and pet visits can help to calm, reassure and motivate patient. In this type of activity are used dogs, cats, horse and even dolphins! There have been so impressive results that every hospital should consider including this activity periodically.

Some tutors don’t judge you correctly for many reasons, sometimes because they don’t want you around them, some times because they are tired and doesn't want to stand behind you and explain things to you, some times just because they don’t like you so they gave you a bad evaluation or because they immediately demand perfection when you have just started the journey. My tutor is very kind, patient, very nice and if you have doubts or concerns, she is always ready to explain and give you a hand when you needed. If you doing something wrong, she’s not judges you (like some other tutors did to me) but she tells you, with calm and patience, what did you do wrong and how to get better the next time. When you do something right, instead, she congratulates with you and encourages you to do always better and better. I admire this of her she tells you how things really are and, the most important thing, when she corrects you, she doesn't do it badly to belittle you, but, instead, for encourages you more and more to do better the next time. At the same time I would still like to start working, maybe nt immediately in the hospital but as a in-home nurse, so as to manage my working time by myself and allow me to continue with my studies. After finishing the supplementary year i would like to start working in the hospital and, in the meantime, study for the specialization in coordination for the health professions, to become head nurse. I would like to remain a nurse for at least 10-15 years and then become head nurse when I feel ready. This is how I imagine my future, hoping it will come true.

I've been walking around the departments for 3 years now and comparing myself with tutors. In my experience I have found that tutors make up 70% of the student. If there is a good relationship with the tutor, the student will give all of himself to learn and to improve the difficulties, if there is not a good relationship instead, the tutor has the power to make the student question himself, even the decision to become a nurse, accentuating her insecurities and weaknesses. Having spoken many times about the tutors who have remained close to my heart, this time I want to talk about one of my not exactly positive experience. I was at the Policlinico Tor Vergata hospital, in the transplant wand, I was on duty with two nurses, one very nice and the other from the start a little shy towards me. As the days went by, I realized that she didn’t like having me around, when I asked her something she answered me in a bad way and was always very grumpy. Toward the end of the internship, she apologized to me for being grumpy towards me and, in the end, she gave me a good grade!
