In my honest opinion, the opening title credits of 'Joker' are no very impressive. There are no opening credits apart from the title itself. The title is overly simplistic to the point where it looks abrupt and boring, using just a black background and dull font . Opening titles are used to imprint the memory of the film's title onto the audience, while the title of 'Joker' only help the audience to forget monotonous opening.

In 'Disillusion' it is clear to see that the editing quality has improved dramatically. Not only were shots sped up and slowed down, but also other advanced editing techniques were used. A shot that were heavily and well edited in 'Disillusion' were the CCTV camera scene. The CCTV camera scene used a black and white filter, a green-screen image (of the blinking 'REC' button), a jump cut (to Mary and her satanic drawing), sped up footage, and the 'shaking' footage at the end of scene. This was done to properly show the audience that this scene wasn't in real time, and the use to the before mentioned editing techniques in this scene allows a sense of realism to be created.

Furthermore, 'Joker' fails to use any non-diegetic sound in the entire opening. Due to the absence of non-diegetic sound, the production lacks any sense of atmosphere (since there is no music or sound effects), making the production not very intense, emotional or enjoyable. Additionally, in thriller films, silence is used for suspense, however since the whole opening only has a small amount of sound, the audience silently watching, expecting a loud jump scare that never happens, leaving the audience disappointed.

Finally, in 'Joker' there is a lack of a focused narrative/story line. This doesn't let the audience understand the meaning of the production, hence no suspense, fear or mystery is created in the of the audience.

On the contrary, there is a use of constant non-diegetic sound in 'Disillusion'. The use of non-diegetic sound allows for an eerie atmosphere to be created in the opening, thriller films need unsettling music to accompany the mystery and fear in the scenes. 'Disillusion' perfectly uses non-diegetic to create an eerie atmosphere.

However, 'Disillusion' has a strong and apparent narrative/story line that is well displayed just from the opening alone. It is clear for the audience to understand who the characters are, what their motivations are, and how the characters and their motivations contribute to the narrative. Since the audience can identify that there is a narrative, this allows the audience to attach meaning and thought to the film, letting the audience know the film is more that just clips on a screen.

In the preliminary task, there is a lack of advanced editing technique. An example where this lack of technique is shown is in the shot were one character is killed by the clown. I originally wanted this footage be in slow motion, however due to the lack of understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro and how the program works, this shot wasn't edited properly, and the killing in this shot lacks any sense of suspense, instead the killing looks too rush.

On the other hand, the opening title credit to 'Disillusion' is nicely implemented into the opening title sequence, allowing the opening to maintain its narrative flow, and not be abrupt. Also, instead of using just a simple font and black background, the product deals with the opening credit creatively, by having the title be wrote in both red pen and blood by the antagonist. This creative choice is not only non simplistic but also rather unique, allowing the title to be even more memorable to audiences after they watch the opening.
