Internal Conflict + External Manifestation - Ameerah

SND
BLANCHE: "One cup is my limit!"
Later in the play: "Two is my limit - no, three!"

BLANCHE: "Turn that over-light off! Turn that off! I won’t be looked at in this merciless glare!”

BLANCHE: "Never inside...I never lied in my heart..."

Explanation: all these quotes indicate Blanche's internal proclivity towards presenting herself as a demure Southern Belle. Her apparent failure to do so is an external manifestation of this conflict, which only becomes progressively worse throughout the play.

DOAS

“WILLY: Between [Charlie] and his son Bernard, they can’t hammer a nail.”

“WILLY: A man who can't handle tools is not a man. You're disgusting."

"BIFF: To devote your whole life to keeping stock, or making phone calls, or selling or buying. To suffer fifty weeks of the year

(…) And still—that’s how you build a future "

Explanation: the first two quotes suggest Willy's internal jealousy for his successful neighbours, this internal conflict manifesting as attacks on the only flaw he sees in them - their lack of physical strength. Ironically though, none of Charlie, Bernard, and Willy's jobs require practical work. Biff's internal conflict is different, focused on his desire to work on the field vs his responsibility towards his father - this manifests as regretful acceptance.
