My main core value is fun, I agree that we do need to keep the class in order. But who wants a boring class monitor? The challenge I face while being fun in class is that when I try to make everyone smile, they take it as an advantage and start they start being noisy and it becomes a chaos. In the end, I get scolded for not keeping the class quiet. This happened last year. This year I changed my strategy a bit, so that the class is in order and I am fun. When the class is noisy, I switch to not fun class monitor. As I mentioned before, nobody wants a boring monitor, so when that happens, everybody realises after a few minutes that they noisy. They immediately try to be quiet again. After they are quiet, I go back to a fun class monitor mode. I feel this is a good way to follow our core values. It is also a good way for the class to realise their own mistake.

Me and my other class monitor were taking care of the class as usual and some of them tried to get away with it and going or escaping out of the classroom. We tried to tell them to not do that and they were making excuses like “I’m jUst CheCkinG If ThE tEacHer Is coMinG” and we write their name down and they started shouting at us and blaming at us when we were just doing our job. And some of them started accusing us for not being a good class monitor and not trying our best.

Learning how to approach teachers is a different ways to solve problems for example, instead of complaining to the teacher about the problem, you can give her a piece of paper stated with the problem and other details. And also instead of informing the teacher about a problem that has been happening constantly, we can remind the teacher many times.

I can be a role model and teach my class how to be responsible and not behave badly. I can tell five or six people about the things I have to do to take care of the class if they understand that it is hard for me to take care of the class, they will keep quiet and ignore the person that is trying to talk to them. That way the person who got ignored will understand that they have to be quiet and this can teach the entire class to be quiet.

I can tell them nicely to stop doing the ‘ wrong’ actions.
Tell them in the way they like for example using ‘sabotage’ they will feel that we are making some effort . By doing that they will feel that “ Oh my god! They are doing so much to just calm us down! Let’s respect their effort and be quiet!” Thus I enabled them to act by respecting their own peers.

I can become a better class monitor when I am able to guide at least one fourth of the class. That one fourth will then help the class monitors to guide the rest of the class so that we can work on doing more things at once.
