Charcoal Still Life on Toned Paper

I was able to complete the project and portray the different objects together on the still life. However, I ran into problems of using the charcoal pencil lightly to create different grades of shading and was unable to blend the charcoal properly. If I did this project again, I would focus more on creating a wider range of values and utilizing the background gray of the paper.

One-Point Perspective Room

I really enjoyed working with one-point perspective because I was able to work on creating an image that gives a sense of being there to the viewer. I did have some issues with shading different shades due to some shades being very similar to others, especially with the large amount of darks on the bed, pillows, ottoman, and ceiling that I had to find a way to differentiate between each shade.

Impressionism Chalk Pastel Drawing

Some struggles that I faced with this drawing was the filling in of white spaces and the bush to the left of my drawing. If I could do this again differently I would start off with a more open picture that doesn't have too many objects in it. I do believe I was successfully able to create the central straw-like plant and the tree in the back right.

Pen & Ink Drawing

I really did enjoy using pen & ink as a drawing medium because I always find myself having more fun with dark and light values. I do believe I selected a good image because my cat has texture on her fur, and a wide range of dark and light patterns on her. If I could do this project again I would put some more details into the hearts and the spring that connects them.

If I were to do this project again, I would spend more time of filling in the background with more color. I selected the original piece of artwork because I really wanted to try a sitting pose because it would be different from all the standing mannequin poses that were being done.
