Cancel culture is when a majority of people view an action that someone said as wrong, and so they decide to brigade and harass someone. I view cancel culture as something that started with good intention, but quickly turned into something uncontrollable. Jon Ronson's message was that we should stop harassing people that don't really deserve it, and that we should step back and evaluate whether or not someone really deserves the hate we are giving them.

Cancel culture is when the majority stops supporting someone or something when they have done something bad, for example, Shane Dawson was canceled for his racist past and other things as well. I view cancel culture as something that can be good if used in the right way because it's important to hold people accountable for their actions, especially if it is public. I think Jon's message was that cancel culture can be too harsh.

Cancel culture is when a big group of people decide to stop supporting this certain person, you can usually see this with famous people. My view on cancel culture is that its good and bad, its good to not support someone that did something bad or said something bad, but a lot of people take it way too far. I think his ted talk was talking about how cancel culture can be good but also bad, Some people take cancel culture way too far

Cancel culture is an act of when a group of people who usually believe in the same ¨things¨ as each other go after someone who they don agree with. It can also be a group of people that had found something that someone had found that you did (whether it be recent or years ago) and will outright harass you until you are ¨Canceled¨. Cancel Culture canbe a good thing but nowadays it is drowned out by people doing it just because they hate/don´t agree with someone. Jon Ronson made a good point in his Tedtalk when he explained that ¨Twitter became a dark place because of the power that was once used for good is now used for malicious intent¨. Essensially saying we have become our worst enemies.

Generally this act takes place on social media, although it can happen in the real world as well. I don't see cancel culture as an act that should really take place. I see it as not only pointless, but also incredibly harmful to the victim of the targeting.

Cancel culture is a group of faceless internet users/ Twitter users who group up against people or cooperation to overwhelm them with negativity and threats. The toxicity can vary from simply rioting online such as Blizzard's case, or it can get horrible to where death threats are constantly spammed, all over social media and even in the comment sections such as Youtube, it can spread like a virus. Cancel culture is arguably the most toxic part of the internet. People's lives have legitimately been permanently ruined due to cancel culture. People have lost jobs and everything to these people. This act has been going on for the last decade, and is only getting worse and worse. Just a few weeks ago, a 17 year old minecraft content creator was attacked and cancelled for making a joke about banning a beloved youtuber who also has a toxic fanbase, making the cancel culture and the fanbase team up to attack this kid. This is only the surface of a deep rabbit hole of cancel culture. The sad truth is that there probably no way to stop it. Even if Twitter was deleted, these toxic users would just migrate somewhere else.

Cancel culture is being miss used because you can make a stupid harmless joke and have your whole life ruined over it. As a society I dont believe we should be so eager to ruin someone job, reputation or relationships. When you cancel someone you also cancel innocent people who have nothing to do with the person such as someones boss getting canceled and the business tanking. I believe that cancel culture is something that can be used for good or bad depending on how it is used.
