         <description><![CDATA[<div>Overall, I believe this is a thorough, clear, and strong action plan. As the plan suggests, we have a lot of work to do if we are to make significant progress towards our goals in the near future. There are steps listed that are very specific and others that I think could use some more fleshing out in order to provide WASC (and more important, ourselves) with clear, specific and attainable goals--and a roadmap of how to get there. Perhaps we ask some additional "what" and "how" questions to further strengthen the process (and the doc). <br><br>The assessment prescriptions are very specific and robust in some sections, and less so in others. Can we massage these a bit? One suggestion is for number 2 of Action Item 2 (re counseling, etc.): can we add "anecdotal evidence/classroom observations" by staff as part of our assessment of the effectiveness of our action item steps? <br><br>There are a couple instances where it's written that we'll develop a system or method (e.g., "creating a system that easily tracks students with jobs," etc.). Can we think of what this system will look like/how it will work and include that information?<br><br>I also suggest adding to step 3 of action item 3 (math) a bullet point that says something like "emphasize real-world math in classroom activities." Of course, we should be doing this anyway, but it builds on the previous point (c.)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think this rough draft of our action plan accurately captures our staff's input over the course of this entire WASC process. I want to thank everyone for effectively collaborating in order to make this document what it is: a prescription of achievable items and logical steps to reach our goals.&nbsp;<br><br>With that being said, in order to better assess item 1 (step 4): "Continue efforts to promote cross-curricular high utility vocabulary and language development with an emphasis on communication.", I would like to see the development of a rubric or a formal observation form to assess students' ability to verbally communicate/use these tier 2 words in context. This assessment should be in addition to "Collect and review student work samples".<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In addition to Jeff and Josh's suggestions I would also encourage&nbsp; clarification on section (g) "promote transparency around major issues that impact student learning and school climate and culture."&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>In regards to our counseling services section 2a can we explicitly address the need for communication/collaboration with teachers and counselors? &nbsp;<br><br>Lastly, with any pilot or implementation of a new program, I believe we the group assessing it would need to meet monthly.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Thank you everyone, especially Jen, for compiling such a thorough action plan.&nbsp;<br>Here are a few things I was thinking:<br>In the first section, about PD, maybe we alter the text to read, "Measure the number of staff participating in staff development [and how that corresponds to classroom implementation as evidenced by student work]."<br>I really love the idea of implementing more technology platforms such as Google suite, this is so helpful for our program.&nbsp;<br>Following up on graduates is another area where I see great value. I believe this to be one of the most important, and realistic measures of our success as both individual programs as well as the broader Alt Ed program. If we can get some time and resources poured into this aspect, it will alter and inform how we see all the other assessments we do throughout a student's time in our program. </div>]]></description>
