We are learning Gaelic Castle, talking about and envisioning where it comes from, and those two students are excited to choreograph a short dance piece to perform with it.

Connect meaning to music by placing in time and giving it context:
When we play William Tell Overture (#45) we watch a clip of the 1950's tv show "The Lone Ranger" We discuss? Was this music composed for this tv show? Why do you think producers chose this as their theme music?

Space Engine is a song created by one of my clarinet students. When he first wrote it, I said, "Can you play it? Does it have a story?" He said, "Oh yes. It's about a Space Engine". Here it is:
It was a bad time in space the spaceship was going crazy the engine was about to explode... The first part is the engine going out of whack. Then the first couple measures people were starting to run. Then it slowed down the engine was okay... Then it was starting to explode!! People started to sprint to the pods! Then next couple measures people had to slow down. But wait! The engine came back people started to pick up the pace... Then it was okay for a bit. People picked up the pace big time! Oh no it exploded!! END!
