In the beginning the family song was new and weak: "In his mind a new song had come, the Song of Evil, the music of the enemy, of any foe of family, a savage, secret, dangerous melody, and underneath the Song of the Family cried plaintively." After Coyotito was stung, the family song grew stronger because they had to work together to fix the problem. This situation taught me that good things can come out of bad situations even though it may not seem like it. After Kino found the pearl, the family song grew even stronger because it gave them hope for a better future for themselves and Coyotito. When the pearl started to bring misfortune and bad luck, the family song suffered because instead of ignoring the pearl they listened and obeyed the pearl. When Coyotito was killed, the family song suffered tremendously and the song of evil or the pearl completely over ruled the family song. I was very proud of this essay because it shows that I can think outside of the box. I choose to act out Act 3, scene 1. I think I had a good project because it was creative, authentic, and fun to make and watch. Some things I think I could've done better are to have better costumes, better quality video, and to explain why I chose this scene from Julius Caesar.
