         <description><![CDATA[<div>Some&nbsp;Germen&nbsp;students wanted to go and fight for their freedom. Unification calls grew louder and eventually caused the revolutions of 1848. In 1866 the war with Austria forced German states to divide. French declared war in 1871. Bismarck consolidated his power domestically by diminishing the authority of the Catholic church.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Portuguese helped the royal family escape but after the war John the sick didn't return right away. The liberal revolution in 1820 captured the major cities. In 1822 John returned and promised to uphold the new constitution he wrote and left his son Pedro in charge. Pedro traveled the country trying to gain support and after on august 22 after hearing what Portugal said he declared independence. There were a lot more wars after and Pedro had to fight his brother for the crown of Portugal during the liberal wars.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Otto Von Bismarck ruled Prussia and then Germany (1862 - 1890). Otto was the Prussian Chancellor to unify north German states. Otto was forced to resign on march 18th, 1890. Wilhelm II. and Otto clashed over many things which lead to his dismissal.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pedro was the emperor of Brazil from 1822-1871. He was the son of King John VI. Pedro surrounded himself with ministers who counseled independence. He declared independence September 7th 1822 and within 3 months he was crowned king. </div>]]></description>

He worked until 1871 when he joined the slave rebellion. He called himself a lieutenant of Toussaint Lourverure and followed most of his policy's.</div>]]></description>
