I was surprised to see that CA is the only stat that has a "Parent Input" as one of the 4 criteria for reclassification. But I'm glad to see that there are 4 other states (AK, CO, FL, TX) that use an additional non-ELP criteria.

The term "achievement" is usually denoted for academic subject assessments and "performance" is used for ELP assessments. Can this be updated?

What does it look like if we map out the type of ELP assessment and # of exit criteria? What make the state choose single criteria vs. multiple criteria?

Interesting to see that states with alternate criteria mostly rely on another assessment rather than teacher input. Could be a good way for CA to use the OPTEL instead. I'd like to explore this further.

Does it really make a lot difference by this criteria? To what extent, if any, was the ELL reclassification revoked by this?
