• I'm looking to jump in and help out with putting together this awesome Hip Hop event. I want to bring my artistic skills to the table and team up with others in the industry to make it happen.

Objectives:

• Let's start by doing a SWOT analysis to figure out what I'm really good at and where I could use a little boost. That way, I can snag a role in the event planning where I know I'll shine.

Groovanomatry

What was the events social media impact?

For my research on there impact in social media, I looked at the vents instagram page and notice how they successfully break down there judges, DJ’s and posters in general over various amount of days coming closer and closer to the event. This is a great strategy to do because it keeps popping up in time and keeps the audience engaged and excited to see what’s next they will post.

How successful was the event in generating publicity and reaching its target audience through various channels?

Being at the event and witnessing it personally, they dragged in the right audience which made the event 10 times better. Having a room full of people with similar interest if not the same will only benefit the experience for the audience. Creating a great atmosphere throughout.

Did the event incorporate innovative or creative elements that enhanced the attendee experience?

One thing that definitely stood out to me was that they spreader it across a weekend. So with the first night they used beat makers who used stapled equipment within the Hip Hop music society. This made it even more authentic and definitely enhanced the experience. It was battles over live beat making at a pub and it was also optional to grab yourself a drink creating it more of a social and gave it much more of a comfortable environment.

Were there unique features or activities that set the event apart from others in the same industry or niche?

The unique feature they definitely used was the preselections not being 1 by 1 for each category. But they used it by creating cyphers in the space with secret judges going around selecting people out of the cyphers. I think this was such a great concept as it brings people together and puts the mindset not from being competitive but more social which in my experience, helped a lot to enjoy my dance a lot more in the space and feel more comfortable to go into these cyphers.

What is the potential long term impact of the event on attendees, and the community?

I believe the approach they had was very unique, like no other. Which is great for there marketing schemes as they have a very different approach to the rest. Hearing from others also that they should put another one in the year instead of just the one is a long term impact in itself, like they cant wait for the next one to come around.

What was the events social media impact?

Their event was a very similar strategy to groovanomatry. Where they built up the line up in individual post throughout the stages of its promotion.

How successful was the event in generating publicity and reaching its target audience through various channels?

The event was ran by two individuals who weren't new to the community it was hosting for, so that was a good benefit and an advantage for who they were achieving to reach for.

Did the event incorporate innovative or creative elements that enhanced the attendee experience?

They made sure the event ran smoothly, checking up on people and just socialising in general is what they excelled in. They are respected because of how nice they are to the community making sure everyone is having a good time.

Were there unique features or activities that set the event apart from others in the same industry or niche?

I wouldn't say it was unique in any way, it ran as a standard battle. One thing I would say was that they created a great experience for people to enjoy.

What is the potential long term impact of the event on attendees, and the community?

Because the event is only once a year, similar to groovanomatry people want another one and not have to wait until the next year.

Redbull Dance Your Style

What was the events social media impact?

Due to Redbull being such a successful brand, their social media has a various amount of different audiences, even none dancers. They also have sponsored many different dance artist from many different styles. So they promote them to expand the audience even more.

How successful was the event in generating publicity and reaching its target audience through various channels?

The event that I went to wasn't necessarily busy due to them not really having the best promotion for it as they were only just starting the dance your style battle. But about a year down the line I now see it everywhere, including many different instagram pages that promote dance such as @Stanceelements.

Did the event incorporate innovative or creative elements that enhanced the attendee experience?

They definitely do because there is nothing like it. the audience a lot of the time can be majority just ordinary people who's walking the street to stop and have a look at the event. They book out spaces to catch everyday people attention.

Were there unique features or activities that set the event apart from others in the same industry or niche?

The battle in itself is very unique, giving the dancers who participate to freely dance however they want to dance. The event is held across all over the world and they allow crowd participation by allowing them to vote for there favourite dancer.

What is the potential long term impact of the event on attendees, and the community?

They have created a constant community building platform, and Red Bull's association with dynamic and youth-oriented events like Dance Your Style can strengthen brand loyalty among its target audience.

• I have practiced over the last 3 years so I have the experience to create a vibe as a DJ but keeping it real and authentic to my specific style.

• I am a very unique DJ and have a playlist that stands out from the rest.

Weaknesses:

• Being nervous in the scenario of a battle event with experience only what a house party setting feelings like.

• Limited playlist as I am only just starting to download music as appose to 3rd party playlists.

• Practicing my mix as I don't usually has helped massively as I feel a lot more comfortable with the songs I have selected.

• Keeping my uniqueness by my sound selection and also transition the tracks with different drum breaks.

Weaknesses:

• Having to reach out to people through personal social medias for permission on certain tracks.

• The playlist I have is still limited however it will cover the time of my set.

Measurable - Keep a log of newly discovered tracks and their reception at events, aiming for at least 50% of added tracks to receive positive feedback from the audience.

Achievable - Collaborate closely with event organisers to understand their vision and requirements for themed playlists, ensuring alignment with personal preferences and DJ style.

Relevant - Prioritise music discovery efforts towards genres and artists that are trending or in demand within the local music scene, aligning with the preferences of potential event attendees.

Time Bound - Establish a weekly schedule for music discovery sessions, with specific time slots allocated for exploration, downloading, and playlist organization, starting immediately and continuing indefinitely.

27/03/24 - we talked about ideas for judges and dj’s at our event, we discussed a few people that we could invite to be our the main dj. The names that came up included DJ Renegade, DJ D-BO and Josh Costanzo.

03/04/24 - I wanted to discuss my playlist for the event and finalise what kind of music I would be playing during the breaks, I decided with the help of the team on just what I normally play and what Im comfortable with playing, this helped a lot.

10/04/24 - During this session I starting curating my playlist. Josh Costanzo was confirmed as our main dj at the event.

17/04/24 - During this session i continues curating my playlist and shared some with the group

19/04/24 - Today we were notified that the sound system needed for the event could not be moved to our current location. We had to look into a different venue for the event and decided on a club venue. This was a great option because the sound system would be pre-set and the atmosphere of a club is perfect for a battle event.

02/05/24 - Today, Lisha went to view the venue and took pictures of the setup. I needed to make sure I knew exactly what equipment was needed so that I could let Josh know and also make sure I had what I needed. I did some research and found that I needed an xld cable and an aux.
