All the protests, riots, sit-ins, etc... were all victorious and finally allowed women to gain their deserved equal rights. They started off being completely mistreated and acquired their natural-born rights and respect. Some challenges women still face today are unequal pay, lower patriarchy, as well as sexism. Women only earn 84% of what men earn. This is unfair considering the same work is being given and done which should mean an equal pay salary. Also, in the realm of politics, women stand lower in patriarchy than men. The political world makes women seem unqualified, and too weak to be able to work the same jobs as them. This ties into the sexism that women face daily. "We aren't too good." "Women are weak." "That's a man's job." In 1970, Congress passed Title X of the Public Health Service Act, which granted federal fund coverage to family planning programs. This special amendment granted women the right to officially vote. In the 70s, women held open minds and worked in politics, the media, academically, or in private households. Women's liberation was an important topic and was a very popular talk. Women fought for their equal rights through protests and rallies. These women threatened to disrobe which was meant to be a shame to the male delegates. This "gang" was to empower and fight for justice in women. In Uttar Pradesh, India, a handful of bamboo-wielding women took matters into their own hands when they heard of husbands abusing their wives in the neighborhood. This group took initiative and intervened, which allowed for the wife to be safer and the man to take accountability.
