London is the capital of England and the UK. It is in the south-east of England on the River Thames. It is a modern and historic city. If you go to London you must visit some very important places. You can start visiting Buckingham Palace, the Queen's official residence and there you can see the Changing of the Guard that is one of the most famous Royal ceremonies in Britain. If you cross the Mall, a long road, you can arrive to Trafalgar Square. In Trafalgar Square you can see Nelson's Column, a great fountain and the National Gallery, that is free entry. Next to Trafalgar Square, there is Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. Don't forget to visit the Tower of London, a historic castle that is today the home of the Crown Jewels of England. In front of the tower there is the Tower Bridge that is, together with the Big Ben, one of the most important landmarks of London. A new and particular area in London is Canary Warf that is a business district and one of the main financial centres of the UK, including many tall buildings.
