1. goal-oriented

2. I took a “cheese sommelier” course thinking one certificate could change my life. I don’t remember a single cheese name, but the certificate is proudly displayed at home. My one and only goal was to make my résumé look impressive.

3. Economic or rational: The realistic and economic calculation that obtaining even one certification could help me get a desired job or be useful in a related field played a role in this learning experience.

I am learning oriented and activity oriented.

I enjoy taking classes in politics and history because I find the information both relevant and interesting, but the discussions within the classes just as fulfilling and meaningful.

A mixture of the types, most likely social, need driven and cognitive. I find mostly intrinsic motivation when it comes to learning in these classes.

2. I participated in a korea-japan culture research club project, not for academic achievement, but simply because I wanted to connect with people who shared an interest in Japanese culture. Although I didn’t complete the project, I truly enjoyed the time we spent talking about our favorite anime and songs.

Social : I wanted to feel connected to others and be around people who understood my interests. The club project gave me a sense of belonging. More than the learning itself, it was the experience of sharing mutual interests that truly motivated me.

I think I have many experience related to learning activity that made me motivated in learning. Such as like being in a discussion situation which I can express my learning made me more delightful in learning.
