According to the episodes on serial about Adnan there was suppose to be a payphone the night of the murder that Adnan used but there was never a payphone at all. The evidence against Adnan mainly comes from his "friend" jay, According to Jays story there were many calls the night of the murder that just didn't add up. The cell towers did not match the calls that were stated. Jay has changed his story many times making Adnan look less like the one the cops should be going against. His friends and family say it is very unlikely that Adnan committed this crime. He was a liked person of the community and considered "popular" around the school.

There was never a payphone.

The call logs do not match up well enough to prove him guilty. 

There is no physical evidence against Adnan.

There were new suspects found who found the body

Jays story does not add up which includes Adnan and is their leading evidence against him.
