I remember the little things. The plastic pieces of broken model sets, a plate from a Saturn

rocket, a tiny gun from a World War II era tank, or a seemingly insignificant port cover from a

submarine. I remember them strewn across the floor of our San Francisco home, a hazard to walk

across barefoot, stepping on them in line with the pain of stepping on Legos. I remember the

ships, the Star Destroyers lit up by the sun as they take position while the Death Star is fitted

with its superlaser. And the Y-Wings built from the very same Saturn-V rocket models that were

laid out on the living room floor, come to life, flying across the galaxy, fighting for the rebellion.

Senior year I was looking ahead to my future and where I wanted to go to college. I had

scholarships from all over to continue my sport I have done since sixth grade. Those scholarships

consisted of schools that would fit what I wanted to do with my future, which is veterinary. I get

a call from a random number from Lima, Ohio, usually I wouldn’t answer these calls but I did

this time. “Hey is this Mayson? Would you be interested in bowling for The University of

Northwestern Ohio?” I have never heard of this school before now and they didn't have a major
