It's about the Roman Emperor, Augustus, confronting Cornelius Cinna about his role in the conspiracy of the assassination of the Emperor. The scene is modelled after a scene in a play called "Cinna". The painting shows how much respect the Emperor has. Cinna get scared even by a little hand movement. I choose this because when I saw it first, I immediately had an idea. Where to recreate it, with who and how. I recreated it as two teenage boys passing a cigarette.
Attribution:
title: Étienne
painter: Jean Delécluze
date: 1814
CC-BY-SA

I have choosen this painting of 2 Arab physicians in the town Cyrhus talking because I think it is a good painting and I have a good idea on how to recreate it.. They were reputedly twin brothers, and early Christian martrys. They practised their profession in the seaport of Aegaea, then in the Roman province of Syria. Accepting no payment for their services led to them being named anargyroi. In the remake I wanted to present that today's youth can't really live without the new technology and speaking with the other person personally is a declining form of socialising.

attribution:
title: SS.

I chose this picture because when I first saw it I had so many ideas about how to recreate it. This picture shows Cosmas and Damian standing next to each other while they both hold a pen in their hand and the third person is probably blessing them. My idea about recreating this picture was that the man on the right is a teacher who is listening to the man on the left who is a student and the student is writing something on the board. this remake isn't the same as the original picture but I wanted to do something funny and relatable and not just simply remake the picture. This painting can tell you a lots of feelings.Feelings are uncountable the other reason I choose this picture because it can be personal and everyone sees different things.
Attribution:
title: Saint Cosmas and Damian oil painting
Painter: Greek painter
Date: 3rd century
CC BY

A rich man faces the death, who is portrayed as a dancing skeleton. The man seems surprised and scared. I think it is interesting, and has a deep meaning. I guess the Death calls the Rich Man to the hell, somehow through music and dancing, showing that it isn't as bad and scary as it seems. "Allegory" means a metaphor, which gives a second expression of the occurrence, so the painting really has a deeper meaning, than just a man who is scared of a skeleton.
Attribution:
- title: The Death Playing the Violin
- painter: Frans Francken
- date: 16th-17th century
CC BY 4.0

A girl standing with beautiful jewelry holding a pincer and a feather. I really like this picture because I think it shows the beauty of the simpleness of this girl. I am thinking of modernizing in by changing the stuff the girl is holding. This picture has different first impressions to every person, when I first saw this picture I kept on questioning the meaning of it and the more I kept on thinking, the more I felt like it just shows confidence and it shows a picture of an ideal woman of the 1660's without any important meaning. I was also thinking of keeping the jewelry, but I don't know if I have such kind of things at home. I hope it turns out the way I want it to be.
title: St Apollonia
painter: Francisco de Zur
date: 1664

CC BY

He is studying on the painting and he is probably very tired. I think he is at home because he is in comfy clothes.

I have chosen this painting because this is not a simple family as the title says.
We can see a baby sitting in his mother's lap in colourful shiny dress with the father in the background in a choking position that makes us feel a little bit uncomfortable. Probably the first thing that comes to our mind is a poor age when the only thing that people could do is to paint each other as saints but who knows, perhaps this picture has a deep content. As I think, this artwork shows the message of love and care but at the same time the feeling of living in danger, surrounded by enemies. I want to recreate it in a funny way with my cat and one of my best friend who is allergic to cat fur. The photo would represent a beautiful friendship, but with my kitty between us, trying to "destroy" it, so my friend could keep the choking position like man in the original picture.
Attribution: CC BY -
Title: The holy family
Painter: Andrea d'Angiolo del Sarto
Date: 1528-1529

This is an oil painting. I've chosen this because I think it's really strange, funny and awareness. I can see a hidden message in it. When I look at it, I try to figure out what is the point of this painting. I like that it's abstract and unusual.
There's a woman sitting in the middle. She has a tray with 2 eyeballs in her hand. Why eyeballs? Maybe because St. Lucy is the patron saint of eye diseases. According to my theory, because it expresses how eye-catching a painting is. She also smiles a bit lightly. Her smile is a bit like Mona Lisa's, you can't really tell if she really smiles. The whole painting has a dark, gloomy and weird feeling.
In addition it's easy to recreate. As I saw it I got an idea for the recreation. I'm going to dress up like her however I'm going to hold a laptop in my hand with an eyeball background. This would indicate that nowadays an electronic gadget is almost as important as our own eyes. I'm going to edit it. In my opinion I can make a great and good-looking picture from it.

Attribution:
title : St. Lucy
painter: painted by an unknown Italian painter
date: 18th century

CC BY

This picture has really caught my eye. You can see how much the artist went all out on it. Furthermore, it is different from the other paintings, and I can see the potential to recreate it into the "modern era". The picture has the atmosphere of a good old fashioned scientific experiment, with infinite outcomes of the experimentation. Also, the dark and foggy room makes it special. The person here is using a book as a guide to create something, so I thought I could remake it by changing the book into an electronic one, where I am watching a tutorial on how to cook something. Lastly, in my hands I could hold tools you would usually see in a kitchen.

Attribution:
-Title: A physician examining a urine flask
-painter: Salomon de Koninck
-date: 17th century
CC BY

The painting shows a surgeon operating on a man and the client is in a lot of pain. It is also done while sitting and not laying down like nowadays. This painting shows how much more painful an operation was compared to these days. I recreated the photo by brushing someone's hair. I know it can be painful sometimes, but it's not even close to an operation. Especially the client wasn't even put to sleep. It wasn't possible back then. Also I had this idea because new years eve my girlfriend was braiding his hair and I just remember his face how it hurt when she was braiding it for him. When I found this painting, that was the first idea I had for the recreation.
