The Saltarello dance is performed in pairs, alternating movements and looking into each other's eyes. Sometimes the couples arrange themselves to form a sort of circular dance. During the dance, children wear the typical Saltarello dance dress.

"A cat is walking around you, be careful not to be scratched, watch your tail, my dear, so you don't go blind. If you go blind, your tail will fall off". The cat walks around and during the walk and song leaves an object, a toy (tail) behind a child. That child gets up, leaves the circle and runs to the opposite side, with the cat after him. At the same time, the "cat" is waiting for his place, i.e. he needs to get to the empty place before the "mouse". If the "cat" arrives before the "mouse", the child who was left without a place becomes the "cat". However, if the "mouse" manages to get there before the "cat", everything is repeated, i.e. the same child is still the "cat".

My students dance to the composition "Morlački ples", which they themselves played in the school orchestra. The dance is permeated with the rhythms and motifs of our region. The number three is a frequent motif in the composition. three-beat meter, the theme appears three times.
