Romanticism is a literary movement that came from the 18th century and it’s the beginning of American literature

Romanticism came out as a reaction to enlightenment and it emphasizes on the imagination and the quality of literature. There are several factors that helped with the rise of the movement such as The spirit of the age, Expansion in the “New World”. 

Individualism, emotionalism, and nature are the main features of romanticism.

In romanticism the institution is over reason, and the artificiality of civilization and

    seeks unspoiled nature.

Major authors of the era, Washington Irving, Edgar Allan Poe, and many more.

It is a Movement of literature that emphasizes imagination and intuition over reasons. It values individualism and the common man. Romanticism rises because of the Independence in Religion and Politics, Egalitarianism, Expansion in the “New World”, and Women’s Rights movements. It considers the age of the great novel with Authors like, Washington Irving, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Edgar Allan Poe.

American Romanticism considered as the real begging of American literature, its called the first American Renaissance. It's focuses on imagination and emotional qualities of literature and including the picturesque, exotic, sensuous, sensational and the supernatural. In addition, Romanticism has a strong tendency to commend the indivuaslaism and the common man. The most important factor lead to the rise of Romanticism is independent In Religonal and political. The main characteristic is values inturtuon over reason.
