The Finnish version Eeva comes of course from the international Eve, which means "life". I'm sure that my mom didn't think of the meaning when I got my name. As most of the people in Finland, also my parents decided a name that they liked. Some families want to preserve some certain names in the families, but most often a child is named after his/her parents preferences.
