You can have a staff potluck in honor of HHM.

During the announcements in the morning, do a daily known fact regarding an Hispanic innovator.

Have some sort of trivia for the students to participate during their lunches.

Have an activity where students get to make fresh guacamole and salsa.

Last but not least, have an assembly with students dressed as famous Hispanics put on a performance.

A few years ago we had a map of countries where students could pin point where their families were from and I thought that was so cool. Could we do that again?

If you're looking for brief articles or biographies to add into your curriculum there are great things to be found in the Student Library Resources folder in Classlink. Britannica and Gale in Context are handy research tools and you can use a link to direct students to what you'd like them to read/listen to/watch/etc.

We're going to have students in groups create collaborative murals (out of multiple pieces of sketch paper) of sugar skulls. They'll work in groups of 2-6 and each draw a part of the design and then tape them together.

During advisory, take students on a virtual field trip to museums that celebrate Hispanic history and culture, such as the Smithsonian Latino Center or Museo Nacional del Prado.

Spanish Karaoke during lunch, or the main day of celebration. Some students love Spanish songs!
