I used it when I was a child. I used it until I was 8 years old, and it was used to light up the house, especially the room. (In the kitchen, we used a glass lamp.) I lit the wick of the kerosene lamp with matches. The inside of the lamp is filled with kerosene. The oil was used to light up the room. However, even with the lamp, the room wasn’t very bright. An episode related to the lamp's dimness was that one night, while trimming my nails by the lamp, a nail flew off and I couldn’t see where it fell in the room. My mother scolded me for cutting my nails at night because of this.

Extra: When my grandfather was young, he once played card games by the oil lamp in the evening, and the next morning his nose turned black.
