Jewish settlers also moved to Savannah. In 1634 about 200 colonists arrived at Maryland to start a settlement. The southern colonies include North and South Carolina, Maryland, Georgia, and Virginia. The religion that was practiced was Catholicism, Anglic & Baptist, and Judaism. The Toleration Act of 1649 was one of the first laws supporting religious tolerance passed in the English colonies.

The climate is warm and has usual rain. Perfect to grow rice, corn, and indigo. Most jobs are farmers and plantations, which they also raise hogs and cattle. African laborers taught the colonist how to grow rice in the 1690’s. A man called Oglethorpe hoped that the colony would draw small farmers and avoid the rise of a class of wealthy planters. He outlaws slavery and limited the size of grants.

<del>
</del>

Not aspiring enough to persuade you to purchase a rental home around these great and warm regions? There are plenty of jobs available here. Farming and plantations, trading fur with other immigrating visitors, mining for materials, and more! One of the more persuading factors may not be the jobs available, but rather the food and vegetation available and it’s abundance.

“What food is available around the area?” One may ask.

Let me give you the list of foods and vegetation that is edible and is abundant around here: Corn, pumpkins and tropical fish that you may fish for along the shore. There are other foods available too, but these are the staple/main foods eaten. Many may not think these are some good reasons, so I will list the other miscellaneous reasons why one may want to come here: jobs, new foods, the weather, freedom, no famine and no wars! In conclusion, you may have thought it's not a good idea to come here, but hopefully after you've read my huge what-looks-to-be-a-one-thousand-word essay, maybe you've changed your mind.
