Trip to NOS alive festival

We decided to go to NOS <del>a</del>live festival in Portugal. First of all, we need to read a program and find bands <del>what</del> that we are interest<del>ing</del>ed in. Then buy tickets, because it will be cheaper to buy as soon as possible. The price of tickets will be higher <del>each</del> every month.

Ok, we already have tickets, the next step – buying tickets to Lisbon and plan the whole trip. We need to decide — how much time we have for our trip. Because Portugal is far from Ukraine, I prefer to go there for 10-12 days. And I like to travel with lowcost airlines. The goal <del>for</del> of this step is to find the cheapest and most comfortable (convinient) connection between Lviv and Lisabon.
Sometimes it is cheaper to go there through Brussels, but Istanbul can be an alternative option.

Now we have tickets and know the specific dates of our trip. We need to plan all points on our route in Portugal. Besides Lisbon, I want to also visit Porto, Cascais and Faro. The next task — to find accommodation. The two most effective possibilities are booking or airbnb. I want to stay near the ocean in Faro and in Cascais. In Lisbon and Porto I prefer to stay in a quiet place not far from the city centre.

Hooray, we have done so many things!)
Now we need to pack our luggage. I can't forget my passport, tickets to the festival and for flights, money. All the other things are not so necessary. If I <del>will </del>forget some of my clothes, I will buy them in the first shop at huge discount) Traveling through Europe has always advantages!)

Why am I happy? I don't need to take any tents and clothing for nature. NOS festival <del>will</del> takes place in an urban place not far from Lisbon. And I will get there by train.

I've had a few most immersive travels. Today I want to write about my first trip to Georgia in 2014.
This travel started very spontaneously. I woke up in my bed in Kyiv and realized that I wanted to go somewhere abroad on this day. The reason was that I had faced a lot of challenges in my life and I had many thoughts in my head. I wanted to refresh my mind and relax. I didn't have any plans, tickets, or even directions. I started to search where I can get not expensive. I found two different directions: Spain and Georgia. I didn't want to wait for a flight to Spain because it was at night. I started to pack and go to deal with my most important tasks. From my idea to get somewhere till my plane took off, probably 6 hours passed.
"to be spontaneous" became the main idea of this travel. I went through different places in Georgia and even Azerbaijan. I met a lot of amazing peoples there.

First of all, you should check where is the closest Airport with low cost flights. Then you should find destination that you are interested in. You have to buy tickets long before if you want to save your money. You should also check the prices for accommodation because it's the second most expensive thing after tickets. Moreover, you have to book your place of stay long before also.
There are many websites where you should go through all the travel advice for each city.
Oh, by the way, don't forget all documents. You have to have Covid vaccine certificate or PCR-test. Otherwise you'll have a lot of problems. After all of this "bureaucracy stuff" you should plan your trip — what to see, where to go. You should also check the possibility to buy tickets to museums and sightseeing places in advance to spare some money.
Good luck! Send me some pictures from your journey!

It's story about my first flight. It was autumn. The sun was shining and the weather was pretty warm. I got to the old Lviv airport by marshrutka in the morning. where my friends had already been there and we went inside the old terminal.

I can't remember when I first time encountered turbulence. Perhaps my previous flights were going only through slight buffeting. I'm not afraid of my plane can be hit by turbulence. I always try to look at /observe how the cabin crew behaves. All the time they are calm and it's a good strategy even if your plane can face/encounter some emergency. I realise also that I have not so many options in the sky)

I have heard a scary story about a plane incident in London from one of the witnesses. Shortly after their plane had taken off, the pilot announced a problem with the chassis. They circled in the air near London airport for hours to empty fuel tanks. At the same time, emergency workers evacuated all people from the airport and were prepared for landing.

This witness told about people's behaviour in these hours above London: some of them were crying and were saying goodbye to life, some of them were sitting still. Fortunately, this story had a happy ending.

very short preface
I chose these two pictures. I don't know why I have chosen exactly these photographs. Sometimes it can be chosen accidentally, but photography is always about feelings.

The first picture was shot by Emilio Morenatti, a famous and experienced photographer from Spain. When I first time looked at it, I was fascinated by color and shapes. This building in the center of photo stands out because of color of window. The whole building looks tiny and toylike. This picture draws a lot of attention to itself because you need time to understand: it is a real world or fantasy.

The second picture is also amazing. The photographer got rid of any disturbing objects and focused on old woman. He put her in the center of picture and fire on the background. what is common for these two pictures — the color which covered whole of the picture. On the first photograph — sand and pale yellow color and orange on the second one.
Black dress of the woman makes a big spot and accent. Photographer tries to emphasize a horror of this situation by putting this old lady in the middle of picture and also in the middle of realising the fires problems.

I like pictures like this two because they are minimalist and modest.

Marichka and I are expecting guests from abroad. We are going to show them Ukrainian Christmas traditions. Perhaps we'll go to the Carpathians for a day or a few — we'll see.
It is going to be in January, but before that, we are going to celebrate New 2022 year with our friends. We don't have any specific plans for this and I like this way of celebrating without any rush.
On New Year's eve, I will review my previous goals and probably set new intentions. It's not because New year is something magic and will help me to achieve it. It's because I will have enough time — free of work routine.

Tanzania tips

First of all, you need to find places where to go in Tanzania. Because the country is vast and distances are far.

If it's your first time in central Africa (as it <del>were</del> was for us) you need to plan more time <del>to</del> for "acclimatization".
You also need to be aware of all hazards that could <del>be </del>happen/come up/appear <del>on</del> during a trip (or 'on your way').
General safety — you need to check all cautions and tips on which regions, cities, or situations to avoid. Health precautions include being aware of malaria illness (and others) and deciding on all precautions methods, like drugs (maybe first aid kit drugs?), repellents, and mosquito nets. (what other synonyms to precaution? - safety measures, protection, insurance)

The easiest way to travel through Tanzania is by plane. But at the same time, it is the most expensive one. There are also affordable and comfortable busses, but we didn't find the possibility to buy tickets online. We found the local ticket offices in Dar es Sallam (the biggest Tanzanian city) with help of our hotel's staff.
We didn't like Dar because of the size of the city, noise, rubbish on the streets, and tips from travel bloggers to be especially cautious(careful as an option) there.
But there is the good news about this city — you can use your Bolt or Uber app to find a taxi. The price is affordable and you can be calmer about your safety.

Food. We always ate in clean places, many times in cafes or restaurants in the hotels. Locals do not pay a lot of attention to hygiene — so you need to find a place where staff is responsible and where other tourists also are.

Safari. When we looked at the safari prices on the internet we were astonished — they are huge. So the good advice is to go to Moshi or Arusha and <del>where</del> <del>to</del> find local companies there and negotiate prices directly. Tanzanians are ready to bargain and lower the price.

Hybrid work conditions look good at t<del>he </del>first glance <del>view</del>. But there are clear downsides. For instance, employees need to keep a pulse on relationships with team members and also leaders. The study shows, that employees who visit an office rarely — are less likely to be promoted. And it doesn't depend only on buttering up the boss, but also on simple factors such as employees' remote achievements and remote hard work which are undervalued.

(We don't use '-' in English often. It's rather exclusive cases. Punctuation rules are much simpler than the Ukrainian ones.)

The employees who spend more time in the office can build stronger connections in a company.

Even though it was a business trip I enjoyed all 5 days in Kyiv. Despite heat all day it was nice to have an evening walk through such familiar streets. dog days
I met some friends and we had coffee and dinner together.
It was also interesting to compare how the Kyivans have changed their attitude to war from April till now. Now Kyiv looks more like Lviv, crowds of people sit at the restaurant and coffee shops, and enjoy life and weather. I saw less military and Police than in previous time.
Unfortunately, I hadn't chance to see the Dnipro river and Trukhaniv island.

What do you think the potential implications of melding our minds with machines might be?

It's hard to predict all aftermaths of melding the human mind with machines. As usual, there are pros and cons.

Pros:
— It could help people who have problems with speaking, hearing, or seeing. Machines can decode brain activity and help such people to communicate.
— It could help to better understand how the brain works and assist during surgeries and different kinds of research.
— Many people have brain issues, so I believe it could help them to live a better life and control unwanted brain activity.

Cons:
— The line between helping people and using brains for other aims is thin. Such <del>the</del> a possibility to read people's brains can be used to control them and it can have terrible aftermath. We can see how easy it is to manipulate people in russia using the TV. If such governments <del>could have</del> had more influence on brains, I have no doubt, they could do that.

Thus, there is no unambiguously answer on this topic.
