JJ and Cecil suggested that they will make a costume for him. They started to help him making his Halloween costume. They used Chris's old clothes to make the costume. However, JJ thought that there was something missing in his costume. So, she took the sweatband off from Newton's forehead and made it into a mask. Newton didn't believe his own eyes as he saw another person in the mirror, not the old Newton Newman in the back days. The mask changed everything, he felt protected as nobody recognised him. JJ gave him a candy bag and they began to celebrate their own Halloween Day.

Some of the Ferrets get some revenge on Reggie who is accused of causing Chris to get into his coma.  As Newt recalls the Big Tackle, JJ tries to divert his attention by asking about their Halloween plan. Newt tries to avoid Halloween by saying that he has lots of chores to settle. Both Cecil and JJ are not convinced and they decide to meet the next day at 6.00 p.m. for Halloween.

In the stadium, Newt still wandered and thought about the Halloween. But then things began to happen on the field that made him forgot about the Halloween blues. Fortunately, as the halftime horn sounded, Fillmore Ferrets team was leading 21-14. Suddenly, the usher snapped his finger at Newt’s face to ask about the ticket and that made Newt wound up standing out in the parking lot watching the second half through the wire fence surrounding Fillmore. At the fifteen-yard line, Merrimac tackled lunged for Darryl and caught his ankle. Immediately, at the two-yard line, a desperate Merrimac player dove right across Chris’s path. Finally, Chris’s team had won. All the players got off except someone.

In the class, their teacher talks about god. They study about the god and the goddesses of ancient Rome and Greece ‘the heroes of old’. That day, the students are allowed to go home early so that they can watch the Big Game Pep Parade on the street. Newt raced home from school. He is thinking about his own Halloween costume. He went online and Googled “hero”. After that, it is time for the Big Game. Newt’s parents are getting ready for it. Newt is very sad because he has to put aside his coming Halloween celebration. He has to focus on the final game for now.
