Double header of croakers from our pier in the fishing village of Mann's Harbor, NC.

I have been a CBF educator in the Hampton Roads area since 1998. I am looking forward to meeting and working with you all this week!

The roots of my Eco ID began at an early age with my family. I grew up in Hampton Roads, but you could say I was "raised up" spending many weekends on the family farm outside of Lynchburg, VA and also down in Carolina. The time spent working on the farm growing up and the opportunity to spend time on the water fishing with family and local Carolina waterman gave me a love of red clay and brackish water.

This upbringing led me to CBF and the opportunity to teach stewardship, conservation and ecology on a 40ft deadrise on the Bay and rivers throughout the Hampton Roads area.

I look forward to a great week!

I would like to add more to this in my curriculum.
I grew up in Hampton Roads and I have taught at KHS for 34 years now.

Hi there. I'm a freelance Environmental Educator in the midst of relocating from Northern Virginia/Fairfax Co. to the Lower Shore of MD near Snow Hill (Worcestser Co.) I'm going to be working with the Lower Shore Land Trust developing capacity of volunteers, community members and future farmers/citizens. So, I work with everyone K-Gray.
Last year after the world shut down, I worked on a local farm and came to realize that I had been ignoring my genetic imperative to grow and produce nutritious food for others to eat. So, we're starting a farm!! (It wasn't really that quick a pivot ... it's always been part of the
plan.)
I hope to use this week to jump-start a plan to set up programs on the Lower Shore for anyone to participate in connecting with the natural world we live in, understanding the forces which impact it, and learning how to manage or eliminate human impact to achieve balance in all we do and strive for.
