Duke arrived in Sydney Australia 1915. Surfing was brought to Australia in 1915 by a Hawaiian named Duke Kahanamoku. He showed a fellow friend of his Tommy Walker this board riding technique is amazingly good at fresh water beach which is located in Sydney. Dukes  board is now on display on  northeast  end of the beach  out side the fresh water  surf life  saving club.  this is a picture of  the statue .

The racing 16 is a very famous surfboard which was owned by the Duke. This was a hollow board with a timber frame and plywood skin it was built by Frank Adler. Frank came up with this design so it would be liter so it would be easy to manoeuvre than the original solid timber boards. People all around Australia started to buy these boards.
