I'm noticing (or thinking) about the parallels between subtractive schooling and deficit narratives to the rhetoric and language about those who have been deported and have been protesting Israel. Has the adoption of the uncaring attitude(s) become the fabric of how we (royal we) think about other people?

I notice that chapter 5 talks about bureaucratic issues in schools, which seems like a frequent problem that educators have with the school system, that there's no space for anything outside the prescription for what someone outside the classroom has determined is necessary

I wonder how the politics of caring could be practically integrated into teacher training programmes or curriculum development.

I notice that in my time teaching that there isn't a huge sign of educators showing interest in the student's culture and or background. Leaving some students in the mindset that they don't care so why should I?

Just thinking about how the US educational system has a lack of diversity in the area a culture especially in places like Arizona where there is a large population of Spanish speakers and Natives, but the things of these cultures are widely desired in the form of festivals and food just not the place from which these things come from.
