How individuals control their body weight mostly depends on three elements, which are an individual’s food intake, nutrient turnover, and body fat stores. Exercise and a well-balanced nutrition diet is very important in trying to maintain healthy habits and life style. Genetic inheritance can also be another factor causing obesity. Fuel metabolism and appetite or food preferences vary on the individual. Several other causes could be emotional concerns that are being dealt with, or lack of sleep.

There are several measures which can be taken to treat and control obesity. The first action that can be taken is through dietary change. Getting involved in physical activities is strongly advised to assist in burning off some of the calories that are consumed throughout the day. Hormonal treatment can also be of great help to the patients who might have gained weight as a result of genetic inheritance.
