She was very surprised to hear our loud beep. We believe she didn't even think she did something wrong and when we asked her if she knew what had happened, she didn't seem to even know she did something wrong. We were not too surprised about this reaction because most people do not even look at the labels on the trash can. We asked her how she felt about the idea, and she said that it was unexpected and that she had never seen anything like that before, but that if a machine like that was placed in the trash cans she would recycle because she wouldn't want people to know that she wasn't recycling. When we saw someone throw trash in the recycling or vice versa, we would make a loud noise, exposing their lack of recycling to everyone around them. We said "nice job", and he smiled after.
We asked him how he felt about the idea, and he said that he liked it. He said that he wouldn't want to be called out like that, and that is why he chose to recycle.
