These are both fast and easy ways to communicate with parents and let them know what is going on in the classroom. You can use these forms of technology to also let them know about upcoming assignments.

Believe it or not, there are some rural areas that do not have good internet signal and those parents might not be able to check the emails or Edmodo or even Facebook. Although some parents have a busy life with work and kids, sometimes having a conversation with the teacher of their students can be hard to find time for.  Sending notes home with students is complicated because the messenger (the student) can lose or misplace the note. I think at the beginning of the school year the teacher should have a form asking the parents which is the best way to communicate though out the school year. Some parents can do face to face while others can only communicate though email though out the day. While unfortunately there are some parents who will not not be involved in their child's learning and school experience, that is not the case with everyone.
