On Monday Officer Vogel came to speak to us, for S.A.F.E . He gave us a presentation on Google slides. He talked about the Miranda Rights, as shown below. He also explained all the tools in his officer vest. There were things like a taser, pepper spray, a notepad, and handcuffs (two pairs). Another thing he talked about was the laws for kids, like when you can drive and when you can drink alcoholics. Overall, it was a good presentation, and I learned a lot.

Reading Power

The reading part of Reading Power ended this week. The pledges for the school have to be turned in next week. I reached my goal for Reading Power, which was 1,000. I actually read 1,750, which was more than I thought I'd read. I got a paper seahorse, to show that I had reached my goal. I also got a star because I reached 1,000, and some fish because you get a fish for each 100 minutes.

In P.E on Monday, we started a dance unit. First, as a warm-up, we did activities through flat ladders. One activity was where you had to put one foot in a ladder space, and then the other, all the way through. We did things similar to that, and each time it got more challenging. After that warm-u we picked a color spot that were spread around the floor. Then the coaches taught us a simple dance. 4 steps to the right, 4 steps to the left, kick 4 times, then turn to the left. After we turned, then we'd repeat the process. We danced to a song, using those dance steps. Everybody had a lot of fun.

5th grade P.E

5th grade P.E is on Thursday with all the 5th graders coached by Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Grogan-Crane. This time we didn't have to run. We just did our normal warm-ups (the crazy combo of jumping jacks and push-ups) and played a really fun game. There were two teams that played against each other. Each team had about 5 players. A person started with the ball on the side they were defending. That person had to throw the ball without taking any steps, to a teammate. The team had to keep passing the ball from hand to hand, all the way to the other side of the game field, that side the other team was defending. If your team made it there without dropping the ball, or giving it to the other team, you got a point. If you did drop the ball, it was the other team's ball. I played with Siena, Claire, Emily, Sophie, Antonia, Ava, Cat, Saba, and Claire on a basketball court. It was , so much fun, that we didn't stop playing after our teachers told us we could have ten minutes of free play. I really enjoyed 5th grade P.E, and I hope we can do this game again.
