This further shows the reason that they were not treated equally or seen as people, more like tests subjects. In the article, "Tuskegee Study - Timeline", it states in paragraph 2, "By 1943, penicillin was the treatment of choice for syphilis and becoming widely available, but the participants in the study were not offered treatment.". Additionally this shows, that even after penicillin became a treatment for Syphilis, the test subjects that were African-Americans, weren't offered the treatment, the information further shows that the African-Americans were seen as test subjects and not as normal people. Overall, they were seen as a test subject that didn't had any value.
