European countries who have progressively improved their school systems, crediting their success to American strategies, that ironically The United States does not employ. Standardized testing does not equate to learning, just training.

This is a connection for me because I realized in the recent years students have had a spike in depression, anxiety and suicides. There has to be a connection between the two. Young children can only handle so much pressure, some adults can only handle so much. In the past few weeks, we have lost countless hours of learning time due to state or district mandated testing. This is not only effecting students, it is also effecting teachers, as we all feel like we don't have enough time to actually teach.
