John locke was reguarded as one of the most influential of the Enlightenment thinkers. He was known as the Father of Classical Liberalism. Many of his writings influenced Voltaire and Rousseau. He made a big impact in our government and his ideas about life, liberty and property. Many of his political ideas were put into the United States declaration of independence. Locke came up with the ideas of the separation of the governments which were the legislative, executive and the federative. Although they were later fully developed by the French writer Montesquieu and he later changed federative to judicial . Many say that Locke basically helped write the Declaration of Independence because one of the main writers, Thomas Jefferson's political outlook was influenced by him. John Locke and his educational ideas greatly influenced modern history and school systems today because of his teachings.
