The career I want

Ever since I was young, I've always had a great interest in Science. Always excelled in it, and I've always enjoyed learning it. So, with this amazing subject that I absolutely love, I knew I needed a career that had to do with it. That is why I chose the subject of Microbiology to base my career around. College requirements for this career are at least a 4-year bachelor's degree. However, a Master's or Ph.D can give one an upper hand in determining their career and salary. I would like to focus on the Research laboratories field of Microbiology, in which I would take micro-organisms and test them in a controlled environment. This allows them to understand more about how they react under different circumstances. Salaries for microbiologists can range from $20,000 per year to more than $100,000 per year. Those with bachelor's degrees can expect about $20,000 a year whereas those with doctoral degrees can get around $40,000 a year until they have more experience in the field. Microbiologists get quick rises in salaries.

This is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, (MIT) and this is the college I want to attend.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology is an extremely prestigious university, often cited as among the world's best universities. MIT focuses mostly on its research and education in the physical sciences and engineering, but more recently in biology, economics, linguistics and management. This university has a specific Microbiology system and is located in one of my personal favorite locations, Massachusetts. The average tuition, as of 2014-2015 is about $58,240 annually. This is a pretty steep price, but will pay off with good experience and education, already putting me ahead of the curve in terms of employability.

Founded on April 10, 1861, which was the date it was granted its official charter by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 2 days before the start of the Civil War.
The idea originated from William Barton Rogers, MIT's first president. Roger's campaigned constantly for the creation of the Institute, rallying support and raising funds.
The first female graduate was Ellen Swallow Richards. She graduated with a degree in chemistry in 1873. She then later became a faculty member, and established the Women's Laboratory. MIT originally occupied a rented space on Summer Street in downtown Boston until its first building was erected in Boylston Street. The Institute moved to Cambridge during a three-day celebration.
The beaver was chosen as the mascot in 1914.
