Religion will tell you your love is wrong. "Without thinking I throw my arms around him as soon as I'm inside. He tenses, and for a second, I'm certain he's going to push me away. Then I feel his entire body relent, and he pulls me closer. I guess I'm not the only one who missed the way our bodies fit together" (Snipes 333). The two had just broken up but Milo still wanted him. Milo went out in a hurricane just to see Marcos. Milo felt wrong about loving Marcos but still came to him. "I can't believe I've been so stupid. Worse than stupid, I've been reckless. I've put my entire life-not to mention my soul-in jeopardy. And why? Over a boy? I want to throw up" (Snipes 72). Milo thought Marcos was sent away for being gay. Milo thought he was next and started spiraling. He thought that was he was sinning for liking a boy.

Throughout the book, Milo feels that what he's doing is a sin. Everyone in his life was telling him this love is wrong. Even the lord of their universe wanted to separate them. Milo and Marcos broke up because of how hesitant Milo was. Milo finally pushed past that and ignored the signs.

I simply loved my book. This book was super fun to read! There were, as always, positives and negatives. There were points where I laughed out loud. Other points felt way too relatable.

Let's start with the positives! There are great characters and funny moments but let's be specific. "I blush so hard I think my face might catch fire. When did this become my life? Flirting and compliments and late-night phone calls with a boy I can't stop thinking about and who can't stop thinking about me? Only a few days ago my life was a living nightmare. Now, almost overnight, I can honestly say things are . . . good" (Snipes 142). I thought this was funny just because my mind tends to adventure. I had imagined this scene and chuckled to myself in class. "'Don't worry,' I say, trying to rally her spirits. 'We're going to have fun. We're about to have three weeks of uninterrupted Quality Van and Milo Time. QVMT!'" (Snipes 31). I found that they actually have something they made up for each other funny. This seems like such a middle school thing but this is adorable. Milo seems so young and without flaw. He seems carefree and much less like he is in the rest of the book. He actually seems happy. He seems to have no guilt about anything. It's beautiful.

Let us start with the negatives now. This book gets really relatable at times. "'You have been a mess ever since school started. You're picking fights with Marcos. You're asking me to pimp out my friends. You're getting wasted at parties. What is going on?'" (Snipes 115). This paragraph hurts me myself because I see all the flaws inside of myself. I'm starting to act like Milo and I figure it's time for a change. "Sure, it's easy enough for him to say, 'Just be yourself.' He doesn't have to go home to my parents' disappointed faces. He doesn't have God literally looking over his shoulder and making his life a living hell" (Snipes 303). This quote genuinely hurt me and I wanted to cry. I feel like my gender and sexuality is a sin. I feel like a mistake. I'm trying to figure this out. I want to love myself.

This book is meant for people in the LGBTQ+ community. This is meant for people struggling with themselves. This is meant for the people that are hungry for self-love. This book is not meant for people with an ego. This is meant for the people who want acceptance and confidence. This is the target audience. The library found me.

I loved this book so much. This book might make me feel worse but I feel happier. This book has made me more confident and I need to find more books like this. I know I won't be enough for my parents but this book is enough for me.
