Finding out:-We all researched lot of information about Climate change and noted down in the A4 sheets we also used various sources like AI tools, Wikipedia, and google.

Sorting out:- From the information we collected we divided necessary information and finished our work.

Going further:-We started to make models, charts, and required creativity works.

Making conclusions:-In the end we discussed about our models and we did the modifications and changes.

Taking actions:-With the help of our teachers I learnt many new things an started taking necessary activities in my day to day activities.

TD THEME- Sharing the planet

CENTRAL IDEA- Humans have the responsibility towards managing waste for a sustainable planet

Tuning in - We groped up and I selected waste management. We selected what chart we will do and what model we will do.

Finding out - we all bought are devices and we research all about waste management.

Sorting out:- From the information that we collected we all took one LOI and did models and l chooses LOI -2 (method of waste management over time) in that l chooses 3rs which are reuse recycle and reduce.

Pollution: Waste, especially plastic, can end up in rivers, oceans, and forests, harming wildlife and polluting the environment. Animals can mistake plastic for food, leading to ingestion and potential harm or death.

Health Risks: Improper disposal of waste, such as dumping chemicals or medicines, can contaminate soil and water sources, posing health risks to humans and wildlife.

By reducing, reusing, and recycling waste, kids can help minimize these impacts and protect the environment for future generations. It's essential to teach kids about responsible waste management and the importance of taking care of the planet.

Health Risks: Improper waste management exposes humans to health hazards, including air and water pollution, toxic substances, pathogens, and disease vectors, leading to respiratory illnesses, waterborne diseases, cancer, and other health issues.

Climate Change: Waste disposal processes, particularly landfilling and incineration, contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, including methane and carbon dioxide, which exacerbate climate change and global warming.

Finding out - Types of Waste

Liquid Waste. Liquid waste includes dirty water, wash water, organic liquids, waste detergents and sometimes rainwater.

Solid Rubbish. Solid rubbish includes a large variety of items that may be found in households or commercial locations.

Organic Waste.

Recyclable Rubbish.

Hazardous Waste.

Sorting out -Sources of Waste

Sources of waste can be broadly classified into four types: Industrial, Commercial, Domestic, and Agricultural.

Industrial Waste

These are the wastes created in factories and industries. Most industries dump their wastes in rivers and seas which cause a lot of pollution. 

Example: plastic, glass, etc. 

Commercial  Waste:Commercial wastes are produced in schools, colleges, shops, and offices.

Example: plastic, paper, etc.

Domestic Waste:The different household wastes which are collected during household activities like cooking, cleaning, etc. are known as domestic wastes.

 Example: leaves, vegetable peels, excreta, etc.

Agricultural Waste:Various wastes produced in the agricultural field are known as agricultural wastes.

 Example: cattle waste, weed, husk, etc.

Types of Waste:Commonly waste is classified into two types: Biodegradable and Non-biodegradable waste

Going further -  We Understood that Recycling Waste can be done to save the planet and it is very important for a sustainable planet

Recycling of waste product is very important as this process helps in processing waste or used products into useful or new products. Recycling helps in controlling air, water, and land pollution. It also uses less energy. Several items can be recycled like paper, plastic, glass, etc. Recycling helps in conserving natural resources and also helps in conserving energy. Recycling helps protect the environment as it helps in reducing air, water, and soil pollution.

Making connect - We created a google form survey to know how people around us manage waste. and their contribution to living practices.

Taking Action - We created a model of Earth reflecting the TD Theme Sharing The Planet with all waste material. We also created a pledge to bring awareness among the school community to avoid the usage of single plastic and a campaign to carry their own coffee cup instead of using paper cup / plastic water bottles carry their shopping bag and Follow the 7 R Policy.

This was a wonderful journey I miss all my teachers and PYP
