They are unmanned and send back information.<br>- The Stardust mission was meant to collect samples from a comet and send it back to Earth.<br>- Sputnik was the first probe to go into space and Explorer 1 came soon after and they studied Earth.<br>- Another famous probe is Voyager 1 it has traveled further in space than any man-made object. It flew past Jupiter and Saturn and as of Feb. 1, 2010, it was 16.8 billion km from Earth.</div>]]></description>
