-          Create opp for kids to work on own and to create something

-          Don’t stuff things down kids throat, it is diff for kids 

-          Ask kids what they want to do, what their skills are

-          Give kids to creative opps to learn more about themselves

-          Don’t just rely on extracurricular/leadership – bring some of these activities into the class. Classroom is where every kid is 

o   Teachers had cliques too

o   Honors teachers stayed together vs regular teachers 

o   Teacher meetings to build curr – are separated (reg vs advanced students, expectations, sets up kids to fail). Maybe sep alone by subject 

-          AP program created division among students – lack of relationships (reg vs ap classes)

-          AP students had more honors – teacher favoritism 

-          Student/teacher perception diff by class type 

-          There needs to be more for all students 

-          Reg classes – remedial meetings to “catch up” to others, always playing catch up

-          AP – guidance, future oriented, strength based  - in dialogue and in activities – what you will need in college, what college experience they thought you would have (visualization), helping with alignment – more opportunities shown off to students

-          Lack of inspiration for daily students – focus just on graduation not the future
