         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Taiga Biome is a subarctic area full of trees, mountains, lakes, and rivers in the Northern hemisphere below the Tundra Biome.  It is the largest terrestrial biome and it is located across Europe, North America, and Asia.  <br>The general climate of the Taiga is a short and wet summer v.s a long and cold winter. There is plenty of snow during the winter and plenty of rainfall during the summer. <br>Unfortunately, the warming climate of our world contributes to the thawing of the permafrost, which is a layer of permanently frozen soil. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Taiga is full of needle leafs, coniferous (gymnosperm), evergreen spruces (picea), fir (abies), and pine trees (pinus). <br> The trees in the Taiga are physically adapted to their environment due to the shape and size of them. For example the leaves or needles of the evergreen trees lose less water, which helps them to survive in the  most grim of situations. <br><br>3 Different Types of Adaptations: <br>Physical Adaptations   <br>-Shape, leaf type, root system, and color.<br>-Evergreen trees are always green, they don't drop their leaves in cold temperatures.<br>-Being able to use a limited amount of energy, since a good source of water only comes around during the summer. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mammals that live in the Taiga are foxes, lynxes, bears, minks, squirrels, wolves, caribou, reindeers, and moose. The list of animals also includes a wide variety of birds.  Most of the animals migrate to warmer climates when the cold winter begins (Birds), other animals just hibernate. Some animals have adapted to the insulating feathers or fur to keep them warm. <br><br>3 Different Types of Adaptations: <br>Behavioural - responses made by an organism that help it to survive.<br><br>Physiological - a body process that helps an organism to survive.reproduce <br><br>Structural - a feature of an organism's body that helps it to survive/reproduce.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Taiga biome is mostly ice throughout the year and our warming climate is slowly thawing the ice that keep this biome itself.  The animals in the Taiga are adapted to live blissfully in the cold climate. The animals in the Taiga are unable to live in a warmer climate, which can cause endangerment or even extinction of many species. Trees and plant life may soon start to die off because of an increase of water that comes the melting ice. This issue not only affects the Taiga, but also the world.<br><br>Another environmental concern for the Taiga is Deforestation: when to many trees are being cut down. Many of the products we use everyday are made of wood that comes from the trees in the Taiga. The loss of trees can threaten the health of the Taiga ecosystem. The tree loss can also leave many animals without homes and no longer provide the biome with soil integrity. </div>]]></description>
